BMW Recalls 12,535 Mini Cooper SE Models

BMW has issued a recall for 12,535 Mini Cooper SE electric vehicles from model years 2020 to 2024 due to faulty battery components that could lead to a fire risk. The recall, overseen by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), highlights that these vehicles may have been produced with batteries that don’t meet production standards, potentially causing a short circuit in the battery or high-voltage system. BMW will notify owners beginning October 7, and affected vehicles will receive a free software update at authorized dealerships to address the issue.
